Comparison
App Store optimization tools, compared
There is no ranking on this page. Nobody here has run all 9 of these for a quarter, so a score would be invented. What follows is the shortlist, in alphabetical order, with one line on what separates each — and a link to the vendor’s own pricing page, because a price restated here would be out of date before you read it.
Conflict of interest
Appstro is a free ASO toolkit and therefore competes with every tool on this page. That is exactly why there is no ranking here: a scored list published by a competitor is worth nothing to you. Every entry is described the same way, in alphabetical order.
App Radar
ASO with store listing management, so the optimization and the publishing happen in one place.
Appbot
Reviews and ratings only — sentiment and themes rather than keywords or rank.
Appfigures
Download and revenue estimates alongside the ASO tooling, so market sizing and keyword work sit together.
AppFollow
Review and rating management with reply automation, alongside store visibility tracking.
AppTweak
ASO and Apple Search Ads in one platform, aimed at teams running paid and organic together.
ASOdesk
Keyword tooling plus review automation, covering both the App Store and Google Play.
MobileAction
Carries ad creative and ad intelligence data alongside the keyword tooling.
Sensor Tower
Market intelligence first — download, revenue and ad spend estimates at industry scale, sold through a sales conversation rather than self-serve.
Visit sitePublishes no priceSplitMetrics
Apple Ads optimization and store page A/B testing, with managed services available on top.
What you have to check yourself
None of this is knowable from outside, and it is where the decision actually gets made.
- Whether the keyword data covers your storefronts. Coverage outside the US and major European markets varies a lot between platforms.
- How rank tracking is priced — per keyword, per app, or per storefront. The same headline plan can cost very differently depending on which.
- Whether download and revenue figures are estimates. They always are, and the useful question is how coarse they are for apps your size, not whether they are exact.
- Whether it does Apple Search Ads. Several of these do not, and running paid and organic in separate tools is a real ongoing cost.
- What happens to your data and keyword lists if you leave.
